I'm surprised by the reviews that they are absorbent. I bought these towels because they are lint free and absorbent and I thought they would be a great all-purpose kitchen towel. These towels absorb nothing. Liquid collects on the surface. I don't use fabric softeners, just bleach and regular laundry detergent when washing with whites. And despite the use of bleach, these towels never get clean for me. I don't know what the problem is, but these towels are useless for soaking. We keep them with us to cover things, spread things out to dry etc. But I would suggest getting fluffier terry towels or similar for hand drying and tidying up.
