Review on DEWALT DWE6411K Sheet Palm Sander by David Dreher

The Dewalt DWE6411K hand sander does its job well as a fine sander - the reason I bought it. Inserting and changing the sheet is not difficult. Dust extraction is better than any grinder I've ever used. The only problem is the patented dust collection port. I'd rather connect a regular small vacuum hose, but I can't. It just hangs around in the opening. Now I see that the port has a configuration where you probably can't get an adapter that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, or is a set of several adapters connected together - can you pronounce duct tape? Dewalt did an excellent job of making this link useless except for other Dewalt products. It has locking joints, o-rings and even ball bearings in spring retainers - masterful! I can't understand how they put a dust bag in this thing and I'm afraid I'll break something if I try to take it off to see what might be useful. complete disappointment. A business model that forces customers to buy branded products and/or forces them to look for alternatives to expensive branded products is stupid and will eventually lose me as a customer.
