Review on 🍳 Ultimate Cast Iron Skillet: Utopia Kitchen Pre-Seasoned 12.5-Inch Pan for Indoor & Outdoor Cooking by Daryl Barton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's a cast iron skillet! It is not expensive! I use it to hold heated lava rocks!

I bet you think I'm crazy. Who buys a frying pan to store heated lava rocks?!?! Well, even YOU if you want to bake great bread! If you're a skilled apprentice cook trying to improve your baking by practicing in your home kitchen and you're tired of making the cast-iron Dutch Oven thing on your loaves (read about making sourdough online; most people put their shaped loaves in dutch ovens to harden the crust from the steam left in the dutch oven), take one of those griddles and a bag of lava rocks and make STEAM. Next, I place the rock-filled pan (without the water) in the bottom oven at 475C while I preheat it. Then I put the flatbread in the middle of the oven, cover the glass on the door with a towel and carefully pour water into the pot with stones (which immediately and vigorously boils the water), then close the door and lower the temperature. up to 450. This method gives you a great crust and you don't have to have two more pans to clean. As this pan is specially purchased I never finish it, I don't care if it rusts and I just wipe it down before using it next time. The pan is great for steaming bread, seasoning and preparing dinner or pan sauces in it. And I can always fix it with a piece of steel wool because it's a cast iron skillet. after all. Never be tempted to spend more than $40 on a large cast iron skillet; They are all made from the same material. Cast iron. this one costs $19.
