Buying anything online, with so many variables, can always be a little intimidating. Of course, cowhide, size, colour, leather quality, welts, animal health, tanning and processing have an impact on the end product. The skin I received is excellent! Gorgeous color, better than the online picture. A few expected scars, nothing major. No rips, tears or thin spots. This is very important to me as I use these skins to make bags and other art projects. I was hesitant to give this review 4 stars as the smell is quite strong and I would need to air it out a bit before using it. I've been working with leather and hides for a while, so I expected a strong smell from a freshly treated hide, but it's stronger than I've experienced before. It doesn't have as strong a chemical smell as some are complaining and airing it out for a few weeks should take care of that for it to get a 5! I will definitely buy from this seller again.
