I have had this unit on my 1999 F150 since July 2010 and am generally happy with it. I noticed a power/torque increase. Gasoline consumption is not that great. I recently asked a friend of mine who has a UTI degree to take a look to see if I missed something or installed it incorrectly. Turns out I followed the instructions to the last letter and the error was from the manufacturer, but he wanted to show me the error and how to fix it. The chrome tubes you see are steel. They in turn sit on a hot engine and behind a hot radiator. So as soon as the air flows through the air filter, it heats up. Hence the name "Specter Performance 9920 Air Intake Kit", not "COLD AIR INTAKE". Then my friend drove me to Home Depot of all places, I thought he was crazy. He disassembled my parking lot air intake and let me carry all the metal hoses. Which he then replaced with PVC for less than $20. All the difference in the world. Gasoline consumption has increased significantly. I will be back after having this setup for six months.
