Review on AEM 28-20395 DryFlow Air Filter: Enhancing Air Quality and Performance by Dustin Barry

Worth every penny Filter

I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this filter and wasn't sure if there was an improvement. After driving about 500 miles with this filter, I decided to do as controlled a test as possible to compare the AEM DryFlow to the stock Fram paper filter. I had ridden about the same number of miles with the new Fram filter prior to installing the AEM filter, so all variables in my road text were kept to a minimum. The road test was done on the same track with both filters and I tried to be as conscious as possible so my driving style was the same for both tests. The track contained a couple of corners, stop signs and a couple of corners, and I didn't encounter any other vehicles during the test. I also did a road test with the A/C off, as the compressor run time can change while driving. Road tests were as follows: Fram paper filter: 29.0mpg AEM DryFlow: 29.4mpg In the long run, this filter is better for your engine and better for your wallet. As a side note, the cached version of the AEM website says that SimpleGreen can be used to clean your AEM DryFlow filter when it needs servicing. Keep this in mind as AEM charges a ridiculous amount for the cleaner.
