Review on Kasa Smart Changing Dimmable Compatible Light Bulb by Christine Gauthier

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very important! - LED bulbs

There are so many smart lightbulbs on the market today that literally some YouTube channels are dedicated to smart lightbulbs only. Unfortunately, many of these lamps are quite expensive. My house is medium sized and has over 40 lightbulbs. The costs can add up quickly! I was happy to find these Kasa bulbs for about $8 a bulb. It really is good value for money. These lamps have 2 main advantages: (1) No socket required. Many smart lighting systems require the purchase of a central hub that controls everything. Kasa lamps are standalone devices that communicate over Wi-Fi and no hub is required. (2) Alexa compatible. It's nice to be able to include the backlight setting in an Alexa routine, or control it with a voice command if needed. There are a number of other benefits to these lamps, but these two are the biggest in my opinion. However, the great price also comes with a few disadvantages. (1) low brightness. It's only 800 lumens. In places with only one lightbulb, such as B. a windowless hallway, the lighting can be quite dim. (2) no animation. Many smart lightbulbs have settings that flash the light in different colors and patterns. Even some of the other Kasa lights do it. But these lamps are not. I hope this feature will be available in a future software update. So far I have bought 12 of these lamps that brighten up the hallway, living room and dining room. If I buy more smart bulbs, I'll probably buy more of them to keep everything stable.
