Review on πŸ“’ Arteza 8.5x11" Hardbound Sketchbook: Set of 2 Heavyweight Hard Cover Sketch Journals for Drawing, Sketching, and Journaling by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The perfect everyday sketchbook

These sketchbooks are really affordable as the quality of the paper is perfect for general sketching and drawing, my daughter uses markers (including felt tip) in hers and leakage is minimal. The pages are not brilliant white, they are slightly whitish and much easier on the eye than carbon paper. I use mine to jot down ideas which I then transcribe onto digital or watercolor paper and as a shared place to hang out and do my hours. I'm not sure why people say they aren't durable. I have bought 3 packs out of 2 in the last 2 years. I used 2 of the books myself and my daughter used the other 4. Now she is 11 and like many creatives she is a bit confused. It is not easy for them to deal with such things and they had no problem standing up to them. If you're looking for archival quality sketchbooks, this is basically not it (but you should also expect to pay 10-20x that price for that many pages) if you're looking for something to use on a daily basis to practice drawing. For the price it doesn't get any better. My daughter even used watercolors a few times in her drawings and they held up (not perfect watercolor paper but it was good enough for her to play with). Artistic ability comes with practice, LOTS of practice, and it's a great size and quality to get some real use out of.
