I've been looking for a 'better' puller for a long time - one that is easy to apply and center when pulling. This design by KD Tools seems to be exactly what I was looking for. I haven't had a chance to use it in practice, but my first impression when I took it out of the box was that the ratchet is cheaply made and can easily break or wear out. The device that I received definitely does not run as smoothly as in the manufacturer's promotional video. The 'mechanism' of the ratchet consists of just four lugs on a metal plate that is bolted to the top of the puller body. Each tab presses against the teeth at the top of one of the levers and offers little resistance when the lever is moved up or down. Some of the hands move slightly while others seem to get stuck. I tried adjusting the screws, which appear to be positioned to increase or decrease the pressure the lugs put on the lever teeth, but this had minimal effect. I decided to take the risk of keeping this tool until I had a chance to use it. If it works really well and withstands some challenges, I'll increase my rating by one star. But right now I'm disappointed in his work.
