I have 8 of these and they work great. Unfortunately the ratchet can be short lived and the material the straps are made of is not very strong. So if you only use them occasionally and you absolutely need to protect them from the elements, they might be best for you after sliced bread. The mechanism must also be lubricated, possibly with a dry lubricant. Keep in mind that they definitely don't fall into the same category as the higher tier yellow cargo straps, but of course the yellow options require more skill and discipline to use. These Ericssons are also much more expensive than they were a year or two ago. And a year later, in 2018, they became even more expensive. Seriously, $20 plus each? Ridiculous
