I don't think the impeller has anything to do with auction strength if it works, for example it's similar to how fast your car drives based on the tires that it has on it has established. It's more of a motor job. But it affects smoothness, how well it revs, depending on how well the engine works with it. Keep in mind that the wave is also involved here. I wasn't sure why my home was making so much noise as the original impeller appeared to be leaking and I had cleaned it several times. I figured I'd risk spending too much on the impeller and shaft (both sold separately) but that was my last ditch effort. To my surprise, they worked! Not super quiet, but the noise is 90% better! I can't tell if the auction worked better or not as my Eheim isn't that strong, although it's rated for a tank twice the size I bought if for ((I can't beat its competitor try it if mine dies completely (or get one with a rating on a tank three times my tank) No matter how well something fits, it seems like even the slightest imperfection will affect its function if you believe that it can't be wrong.If you have trouble with noise,try cleaning and lubricating everything first,then replace the impeller and shaft if there is a lot of noise before you put a new pump(the motor of the whole filter) considering like i did as it will break and you will have to spend big bucks on another one based on the price of the impeller and shaft separately (and filter media) eheim products cost more im m I'm not sure if their competitors side by side have such high prices for parts and filter media. Resorted to the third part y filter mat ial to save a lot of money over time and they work against the fears they try to spread to only use their products, it's just printing companies trying to steal you from it to convince that installing third-party ink cartridges is no, no, wrong. My home works great. It has been running non-stop (excluding cleaning times) for over five years and was initially quieter. Prices are a bit high but if that's the cost of parts and product compared to comparable filters and competitor parts then so be it. Remember like I said there are third party filter media that will work if you don't. I don't want to charge my bank account. I am happy with my home.
