Review on Smart Digital Kitchen Scale with Built-in Measuring Cup by Christopher Wells

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I liked it in Scales

I haven't been able to use it for baking yet. That doesn't mean I didn't play with it when I first got it - it weighed a lot of stuff. I've had Taylor for years - that's true, plus in the conversion chart - minus the fact that the mug isn't removable. I used to dip a coffee filter in the bottom to measure things like peanut butter. I hate stuffing stuff like this into a measuring cup and then losing a decent amount trying to get it back. Same goes for brown sugar—wrap it up, then "unwrap it” into your recipe! weighing is better. Don't get me started with sifted flour. 2 cups of sifted flour is different than 2 cups of sifted flour! My favorite part about your scale is that I can remove the cup and use the bottom platform as a flat scale. I use measuring cups for liquids and small bowls for adding ingredients - it's perfect. Many of my collected recipes call for multiple ingredients, and let's face it, baking is the science of weights and measures and what looks right to the trained eye. And now that the trained eye isn't what it used to be, I'm going for weight. I really like that the reading is upstairs. It's bloody hard to lean over the handle and then crane your neck up so the reading from the handle is sharp with the bifocal!
