Chapter 3 (but first in the comments here) - the manufacturer and seller responded quickly and answered my question. You did it right. I've got the right rack mounts now - and it looks like they're going to work really well over time. This is exactly what I was hoping for. Sorry for posting LOOONNNGGG but it was a little trip and if you think about it I'd love to explain the whole experience to you. Bottom line, I highly recommend it. The product seems good, but the customer-centric service and the company's response have been exceptional.1. My first experience with these mounts. Basically you tighten the screw to squeeze the rubber plug to fill the hole. Never felt like I could squeeze it hard enough, kept tightening and twice the connector popped out of the nut and washer. I found that I couldn't over-tighten it, which made me wonder if it would actually stay in rough terrain with my gun. Appears to be free in the hole; i can rotate it However, I can't get it out even though I didn't pull very hard. It feels like I can push it out. The time will show. But I'm a little worried about pointing some good scoped rifles at them and dropping them. Again, I think time will tell. I'll try them, hope for the best. (Caution; turns out to be the wrong mount) Chapter 2. Learned the hard way, there are different sizes of mounts. Ranger and rzr are different. I took the wrong ones so no wonder they didn't fit. The company is very responsive and helpful.
