I added these lights to the wisteria vines I hung over my daughter's bed. One remote worked in both threads which was great. I didn't realize they were battery operated but I may have missed that in the description. What really sucked was the way those lanterns were connected. They were not neatly coiled, but rolled and eventually twisted. You have to be very careful not to bend and break the wire. They are also not a single strand, but two tiny strands that come together from time to time.
