I bought this unit after using the radio controller which broke during testing. This unit runs well on just the internal battery, 12 volts straight from the external battery was driving the unit crazy. When the charge voltage was lowered to 5 volts the device worked normally, clean transmissions until the internal battery was charged, then glitches on the transmitted signal. This renders this device unusable for remote solar energy applications. The hangtime is too short and the sound adjustment is not easy.
