As I am generally disappointed with this category of bulbs I find this particular example a clear improvement over the other two or three I have tried. This is a significantly higher performance and a pleasantly warm color tone. I don't feel any ripples and it got really bright straight away. Can't comment on durability or effectiveness, but honestly I don't care either. An efficient lightbulb that isn't bright enough for me to comfortably see what I'm doing is not an efficient lightbulb because I have to use four of them. This one seems about right to my eye, maybe a 120 incandescent bulb. It's significantly more efficient based on the wattage and wattage advertised. What is good. But the most important thing is that it's actually bright enough to see what I'm doing and has a nice hue. My understanding of the technology they are based on implies that bulbs that go to full brightness instantly tend to be slightly brighter. The overall lifespan is shorter than those that first darken and then gradually lighten. I have lightbulbs so I can see walking in and out of the room. A lightbulb that doesn't do that but lasts longer is meaningless to me. I'd happily trade a long life for a good one every time I use it until it fails. Based on this experience, I will buy this model to replace all the bulbs in this format in my house.
