Review on Sprenger Black Stainless 2 25Mm Collar by Melissa Harper

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Connections are easily broken

Good things first: The collar worked wonders on my rescued German Shepherd. He has a strong urge to hunt and wanted to be ahead by pulling on the leash. He will constantly monitor squirrels, rabbits and other dogs. At first I tried both martingale and choke chain collars, but he wasn't confused about the attachment. When I tried on the notched collar, it was like night and day. All it needed was a bland fix, and I had a chance to praise it. In just a few minutes, he recovered like a champ. Our walks have gone from suffering to pleasure for both of us. Now for the bad: A good shake or a scratch and the links can come loose. Now I have a stray dog with a desire to hunt. I've also read that rescue dogs are sometimes paid to search for their previous humans when they get lost. Luckily I've never seen him behave like that before. If the yoke loosens, retighten the connection and spread the teeth a little more. The second time this happened I realized I had to check all the other links. Make sure they're spaced far enough apart to prevent tripping, but not too far apart to reduce their effectiveness.
