This product requires a recall due to a serious safety issue, which could result in death. When I took this product out of the box it didn't work. So I looked at the back and found the instructions. I followed them. Then I put the mount back on and everything worked. When I created the second block, I found that the instructions said to disable that block. So I killed the first one. I then wondered why none of them worked. Did I miss something. Then I looked again and saw the words <ON - TWIST - OFF> on the front of the device, embossed but white on white. Yes, I feel stupid, but whoever designed this must feel even stupider. People are looking for setup instructions, nobody is looking for instructions on how to break or disable their product. You must list the installation and activation instructions before any deactivation instructions, and then change the color to red or something. Either way, here's your doom scenario. Someone is following the disabling instructions, thinking they are installation and configuration instructions. Then they mount and check the smoke detector and it works (the device shuts off not immediately, it continues to work for at least 5 minutes, I know because the mind did it). Then it burns and the smoke detector goes off, because then it is deactivated.
