After 2 years of trying to improve the water quality. It finally made it. It really works. I started with a water softener which helped a little but the water still had an odor. So I installed a hard carbon filter after the softener. It helped some but the hot water still had an odor. The next change was to replace the sacrificial wand in the water heater with a powered titanium wand. I still had a slight odor so I put a chlorinator in front of the fabric softener. Because of this, there was so much rust in the water that the softener couldn't remove it and the carbon filter was saturated in a few days. Then I took out the chlorinator and put in the Big Blue filter with that cartridge. It's been 3 months now and it's still working. Carbon filter is still clean after 3 months. It looks like the problem has finally been solved.
