I wanted to make a few small batches of mead to test the flavors and was thrilled to finally find lids and locks for regular sized cans (not wide necks). They are mostly plastic but appear to be well made (not cheap and flimsy). Everything closes well, both the lid to the jar and the gate to the lid. It comes with lid plugs if you want to cap them without locks. They also fit in bottle caps, so you can double use them when fermenting on a large scale. I'm enjoying them so far. Definitely recommend! EDITED ADDITION: - The small sluice covers are so tight that it's difficult to remove them without getting liquid all over them. This probably isn't an issue if you don't use them regularly, but it's a noticeable disappointment if you plan to use them frequently.
