There is absolutely nothing wrong with a portable dog crate. I bought this with the intention of guarding my Rat Terrier at night when she is getting old, deaf and losing her sight. She also has moments of urinary incontinence. It seemed like the best decision for her and for me. For the first week she seemed fine with being cooped up, although she had figured out how to unzip the zippers when they converge at the foot of the bed. She also had cage incontinence and cried until I let her out. I can't wait for my old dog to change. She will soon be 15 years old. I think a crate bed is comfortable for young dogs that are crate trained from day one. I will use the box out of respect for others when traveling and staying at hotels or with family/friends. This is a well made box bed that can be recommended for those who want to keep their younger pets cooped up at night and when travelling.
