Review on ๐Ÿ’… High-Grade Stainless Steel Victorinox Nail Clippers with File - Swiss Army, 8.2055.CB, Packaged in a Blister by Amanda Nunez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice and sharp but awkward to use

I've been carrying and using Victorinox clippers for a few months now - wanted to give them a fair test - but going back to the standard style. I just have more problems with my nails after using them than with regular nail scissors. I think this is mainly because the blades are straighter than regular blades (see photo). So trimming my nails is like trying to make an arc by drawing some straight lines. I end up with curves or sudden changes in nail length that require a lot of sanding to smooth them out. This is all the more difficult because the side cutters are very uncomfortable to hold because the file sticks out at the back. Pros: โ€ข Very sharp, makes a nice, clean cut โ€ข Small and light โ€ข Very coarse, efficient file (good) โ€ข Carrying case Cons: โ€ข Blades are straighter than standard, making it difficult to get a smooth, curved cut โ€ข File hangs loosely on the spine making it difficult to hold - even more difficult when using a file when you have to hold it at the end of the knife. โ€ข Jaws open oddly - not evenly in the middle, but one straight and the other sloping down (see photo) - takes practice to get a nail in between properly
