I bought this case with more interest in the price range. The sides are 1/2" thick MDF as advertised and I knew they could resonate with the pressure of the 12" woofer I installed inside and they did, which was liveable when they were at low to medium volume were used. Well, if you plan to turn up the volume, staple at least 3 sides and stuff them with fiberglass or some other sound deadening material, it will make a big difference. Most sidebar resonances disappear and the bass becomes tighter and more precise. I just used Home Depot oak dowels and screws and some glue, didn't care if the screws were visible (like in the pictures) these are not luxury subs and they do a pretty good job once secured and muffled. If you don't have time to build and finish your own boxes, this is a great alternative.
