This is my first time using this product on very heavy gauge #2 AWG insulated copper wire. The product is excellent for circular notching, which cleanly cuts insulation without damaging the underlying copper conductor. However, this may be the user's fault when trying to perform the second phase of lengthwise stripping using the 90 degree rotate function to gently remove the insulation. I found the whole stripped piece of insulation to be clumsy and moderately effective. Whenever I tried to do a rotary operation, the blade wouldn't make a straight longitudinal cut, but would spiral around the insulation to the end. Also, he barely broke through this spiral path, which required many more attempts, but to no avail. Also, the spiral cut made it more difficult to remove the insulation piece than if it were a straight cut. Hence the 2-star rating of this useful tool. i think i will return it.
