I have wired many panels. I undress everything and everyone. From a 64 ladder tray to a 6-4 like this. Makes clean, precise and clean cuts. I see a review where someone complains about having to rotate the base for a side cut. I prefer this to the blue snap-on thumb grip. This design distributes the pressure needed to create tension in the mechanism to rotate the blade toward the wrist and forearm rather than the thumb. I am proud to use this product.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

Best After Wire Stripping

It's really a hassle to strip the jacket of a cable from a multi-terminal cable. Before I bought this I tried removing the lid with a knife or stripper. Half the time I cut the internal cables. This tool is great. You can simply insert the end of the cable into the tool and adjust the depth of the blade according to the cable jacket thickness. I love this tool, just wish I had bought it a long time ago. It's a little pricey for what it is, but considering how much time it saved me, I'm happy…

  • Free for educational purposes

Great tool for installing speakers indoors or outdoors

Great tool for installing speakers indoors or outdoors with 4-wire cable. composite wires. Easy to use, I practiced cutting, especially spiral cutting, first on a piece of discarded 4-strand wire, and it also helped me find the right depth of cut. Just watch the video. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey for those who only do a few DIY projects, it's really a tool for professionals who do a lot of setups.

Pros
  • Hands-free
Cons
  • Modern

The best thing since sliced bread.

I've been a technician for over 20 years and I don't normally write product reviews but I wanted to give a quick review on this product. I read in other reviews that the blade can break. But after using the product on a heavily insulated directly buried signal cable, I saw how if one of your workers cut through the insulation, Midstream accidentally turned the blade the other way, which could break it. But if you take your time and trim the cord neatly and take your time, that's a nice thing. I

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

But very well done and useful.

This is my first time using this product on very heavy gauge #2 AWG insulated copper wire. The product is excellent for circular notching, which cleanly cuts insulation without damaging the underlying copper conductor. However, this may be the user's fault when trying to perform the second phase of lengthwise stripping using the 90 degree rotate function to gently remove the insulation. I found the whole stripped piece of insulation to be clumsy and moderately effective. Whenever I tried to do…

Pros
  • TRIPLE ACTION TOOL: Makes longitudinal cuts for end stripping, spiral cuts for end and midspan stripping, and circular cuts for sheath removal.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Pretty good tool but with some limitations.

This is a quality tool but its use is limited. Smaller cables are fine and the spiral wire stripping works great, but as the cable gets larger the spring tension isn't strong enough to hold it firmly in the cable. This results in an extremely inconsistent cut, and doing it slowly and pressing on it to maintain tension doesn't save time or make the job more efficient than using a box cutter. The small cutting head also broke. I don't blame the tool for this, I gave it to my colleague to use and…

Pros
  • PATENTED DESIGN: The patented stripping mechanism offers a "spiral stripping mode" for stripping hard insulation.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging.

Unsatisfactory longitudinal characteristics and a broken tip lead to regret.

This one was disappointing. I bought this because it was advertised as slotting and I had about 350 MCM to strip. Fail. The spring return of this tool offers tremendous resistance and while there is a lock for an angle cut (to make a spiral cut) and a standard lock for a crosscut, there is no lock for a rip cut. You'll have to spread the wire, twist the handle while pressing the hook against your thumb, and then let it pinch and cut into the insulation, but that will help if you don't maintain…

Pros
  • VERSATILE: This cable cutter can cut through various jacket materials such as PVC, rubber, polyethylene and many more.
Cons
  • Nothing

Excellent. Not Great Cable Stripper

Purchased after watching the video but having used the tool myself I'm not sure if this is the best tool available. First, as another reviewer pointed out, the dial is very difficult to turn (even after pushing the spring-loaded cable stay down) and the tool definitely requires very strong thumb strength to push the cable stay up as it is. My main issue with this scraper (and most other similar devices) is that there is no method to ensure repeatability such as: B. a numbered scale or a pointer

Pros
  • ADJUSTABLE BLADE: The blade can be adjusted to facilitate cutting different sizes of round cable from 3/16" to 1 1/8" (4.5mm to 29mm) in diameter
Cons
  • Some problems
