Love it! I have a 16 year old 55 gallon tank with the original hood and lights for it. Unfortunately, after so many years, the hood began to crack and fell in two. So I needed a new hood. This one or two fit perfectly in my rectangular fish tank. I couldn't find a better addition to my tank with this one. The plastic is lighter than its predecessor, but will hopefully last longer. As with the original, I used it and bought two of them for my pool. I've also thought about LED bulbs, but I prefer fluorescent bulbs and that fits the bill. In contrast to its predecessor, this case has three parts. While the original was two-piece, the hood was one piece with a lift cover and the second piece the light; This one comes with a half hood, attach the lid to make it one piece and then the light sits on top. Neatly packaged, arrived safely. The lighting is adequate for a medium tank and the lid opens and closes effortlessly. The backlight is quiet, which is a plus for me. Overall a worthwhile purchase for me. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for a new lighted hood for their aquarium. I'm quite happy with mine.
