Review on πŸŽ₯ Meike 25mm T2.2 Cine Lens: Manual Focus, Low Distortion for Sony E Mount APS-C Cameras and Super 35mm Camcorders FS5 FS7 by Shahed Cleveland

Great manual lens for videos!

I bought this lens to use on my full frame Sony A7iii, although it was originally designed for APS-C cameras - with a 35mm (approx) field of view With a full frame camera it suits my needs perfectly as I do quite a lot of talking head video interviews. The first thing that strikes me is the build quality - very nice, with very smooth focus and aperture rings, with clear labeling for everything. Feels solid, heavy and well built in hand! I loved the sharpness and low distortion in the resulting video shot with it! With low chromatic aberration, I don't have to worry, when I have backlit objects (except SOME highlights which can be easily manipulated with lens hoods and filters when the light hits the lens directly). Can we also talk about how it focuses to almost 25mm in front of the lens? A BIG addition to an already impressive skill set! I really appreciated the muted, long travel when turning the focus rings, which are best for post-focus use (especially with the focus gears already built right into the lens!). I didn't have any focus breathing in my limited early testing, but it's fine to sit on a tripod or monopod and, while made for smaller APS-C sensor cameras, it's well balanced with my A7iii on a Ronin S gimbal , as well as on a tripod or monopod. Although I'm not sure about weather protection,
