I want to answer a lot of the comments I've seen on the reviews here. First, I believe many can use it incorrectly. There are many videos on the internet with great instructions. Second, people can use the wrong filters. I use hario filters so they work great. I've never had a break or break. The cheapest version was from a vendor other than Revain. I chose Revain as a seller for a few cents more and received a device that was made in Japan and included a shovel. I suggest avoiding 3rd party ones so you don't get fake one. After a few weeks it worked great for me. Here are some tips that I think might help others. 1) Use the correct grind size. If your coffee is ground too coarsely, you will end up with weak coffee. The grind should be fine enough, but not fine for espresso. I used a Hario manual coffee grinder and set it to 3 stops from its maximum setting. 2) Use the right filter. Make sure the filter is the right size and shape. 3) Pour the water slowly. Remember to wet the soil first and let it sit. Then slowly pour out the water. 4) Use hot water properly. Water should be between 200 and boiling. If you use warm water you will get cool results.
