This item works as advertised - the Gorillapod allows you to place it in almost any configuration you want. If you're trying to take a horizontal shot, there's too much room to pose - it's best to use a standard tripod here. The clip that holds your phone is very firm when you first pick it up. Don't be afraid to push hard to open it. The clip also blocks most of the screen, making it difficult to focus.
