I bought a truck with a fifth wheel but no gooseneck and we have several gooseneck trailers so we had to do this. Didn't know it was an option until the seller mentioned it. I researched it and decided to give it a try as it was significantly cheaper and I'm glad I did. The only problem was the installation. It was a bit off and neither part gave any wiggle room. After reading some other reviews I took the grinder but I only shot a little bit each time so it ended up taking me 30-45 minutes to just put it on. I installed it once, although we haven't had any problems since. Very durable product, reliable and easy to use. It lifts the ball off the bed a few inches, so be prepared for that. If your truck lifts, you might want to consider a traditional ball.
