Whilst this kettle seems easy to use and the quality of the coffee is good I would definitely recommend washing it several times and running it through several 'pots' of water leave a plastic taste in the coffee. It took 8 "pots" of water and 2 "clean" cycles, but soaking the plastic water container in baking soda/water helped remove the plastic taste from the coffee. Don't let the water sit overnight either, I stopped doing this and it helped get rid of the chemical taste. Very disappointed with the appearance of the pot; doesn't look like anything in the picture. I was expecting a glossy finish, similar to my blender. It's made of plastic, matte gray. The description says "matte" so through my own fault I should have been more careful. Not the quality I expected from Kitchen Aid.
