Nice and small enough to fit on any desk. The price was $30. I have another tabletop grinder that I bought 5 years ago but my son borrowed it. This shredder was $80 with a $30 discount at Staples. It's almost as big as this one, but more square. I'll get him to return my old one. It holds up to 12 sheets of paper and its slot is wide enough to fit an 8.5 inch wide sheet of paper without jamming. This has a narrow opening. The instructions say the slot is wide enough for an A4 envelope, which is a standard business envelope, but I found that a bit optimistic. It's actually about 3.5 inches wide instead of 4 inches wide. And you DEFINITELY CANNOT skip more than 4 layers of paper at a time because it will get stuck. Poorly. It comes with a selection tool that isn't very useful. The metal tips on the pick are fine, but the grip is flexible plastic. I couldn't get him to look at it. Instead I used very fine tweezers to clear the jams. It has pockets on each side of an opaque white plastic case, presumably to hold a lock pick or cleaning paper. However, this does not work. The first day I used the shredder, I put the pick back in my side pocket and then threw it on the floor every time I turned it over to empty it. Now the pickaxe and tweezers live in a styrofoam cup next to the mill. The top of this chopper is the chopper itself, which I really prefer. My old one has a bin that fits in the base case. The old paper shredder doesn't come off on its own, so when it gets stuck I have to unplug it, and I put my hand in the case and fumbled. I see jams with the new one, making it easier to clear. Both shred a credit card, although the new paper shredder shreds. I don't think it destroys the CD or DVD. What I particularly dislike about the new shredder is that the strips of paper that are cut are about 1/4" wide but 3" to 4" long. Good paper shredders cut strips that are 1/4" wide and 1" long.
