Review on 🌈 Rit Color Remover - 2 oz (1 Pack): Enhance Your SEO by Amanda Castillo

I've tried twice and am updating my rating but leaving it at 4 stars. First review: I think this will work under certain conditions, but it didn't really work. to me. I have a polyester/rayon shirt that I recently stove-dyed magenta with polyester dye. It turned out to be wrong because some of the threads just stayed white. I decided to try washing the paint off. I did it in the washing machine with varnish remover. I put on a white bra that had the blue paint peeling off my shirt. The instructions on the website said to start the machine and then add paint remover, which I find odd. When the cycle ended the shirt was still very purple and my bra was purple at the time too. It seems to me that the paint remover "works" and removed some of the dye, but it might have been the hot water doing it itself (not sure if that's possible). There was a fixative in the paint and the shirt was washed. There may have been an error in the process, and I also didn't use the slab method recommended for polyester. I can try to do the plate method. I'll edit the review with the results when I do. I'll try this with a cotton dress too. Second review: I tried the hot plate method with a purple shirt and bra but it didn't do anything for the shirt. This worked on a bra to remove purple. I tried the color remover again on the cotton dress (below). The dress I want to dye was mustard yellow. I'm painting it a coral color and I want to remove the yellow cast as much as possible. I used the oven method, but if I had to do it again I would use the washing machine method. First, it's difficult to heat a large pot of water to exactly 200 degrees and keep it at 200 degrees. Mine started to partially cook and I thought I had to leave. I turned off the fire, but it seems to me that there is too much water to heat evenly on the home stove. I tried my best. By the way, the paint remover stank horribly, it stank throughout the house. The dress sat in the pan for about 45 minutes. I think it just took more time because of the intermittent heat. It probably wasn't hot enough. I know this because I accidentally dipped my fingers in the water and they didn't get burned. But it was very hot. I've added photos to show before and during. The white area isn't a highlight, it really did look that white. It was difficult to make it even because the fabric always has spots sticking out of the water because it floats and has air pockets. So I think that next time I'll take care of the washing machine because it stirs up all the time. The Rit website says the oven is the most reliable, but I'm not sure. The color has turned light yellow. It didn't remove the paint from the zipper tape (thankfully it's an invisible zipper) or any thread inside. But I'm happy with the results and I think the coral will be good.
