This is the real deal. Almost all cheap FTDI boards are made with counterfeit chips that give you driver problems and are not reconfigurable with the FTDI programming tool. This one is slightly more expensive than the others but comes with a real FTDI R232 that can be reprogrammed with a tool to behave exactly as the application requires (e.g. levels need to be inverted to get the to enable communication with Frsky telemetry sensors and receivers). cheap FTDI clones cannot be reprogrammed to do this and so will work in this application) Also clone chips are blacklisted by some drivers and may not work properly. I've actually seen junk characters in some fakes due to a timing mismatch on the oscilloscope. Save yourself the frustration and only buy boards with real FTDI chips.
