The shaft in my water pump seems to have sheared off. The poly V-belt came loose and wrapped itself around the fan clutch. And most of the liquid ran out. Two days ago I noticed a new noise under the hood. Suppose I had to test it. At first I thought the belt tensioner just fell apart, but after removing the case and fan I realized I needed a pump. So I ordered this pump. Arrived the next day and I started to work. The metal impeller has been improved compared to the BMW standard part. She fit perfectly. Tip: Apply a THIN layer of waterproof grease to the o-ring just prior to installation. In fact, the pump is very easy to use. The owner's manual recommends lubricating the o-ring before installation. It was a welcome relief to see videos online of people having trouble getting the pump and nuts onto the bolts. The pump works great. Driven it about 75 miles, no leaks or other issues. It was used in the 2004 X5 3.0.
