I'm not one to rush to write a CPU review. There is already a lot of information, benchmarks, etc. on the web detailing the performance of this chip and/or similar chips. Ultimately, I hope to provide some clarity on what to expect when purchasing this product. So if the title of this review caught your attention, it might be because you noticed that the product description says it "doesn't" come with a thermal solution (AKA: heatsink/fan). However, as some other reviewers/commenters have noted, "it is"! (At least it was with me like that). The item I received was in retail form and included a standard heatsink and fan (emblem on the case and all). I've come across similar dependencies on other retail sites claiming the same thing. Unfortunately, buying this item was more like gambling. Guarantees the one you buy will contain one. I do not know! But it can minimize reluctance to buy as I and others have had the same experience and can confirm that the item received was in fact a retail option. Chip. While it may not be very desirable to get a chip without a thermal solution, many aftermarket solutions can be found online and are quite economical when dealing with this type of chip. Therefore, an area of $10 or less may not be an adequate thermal solution. Just think of your potential use cases and shop accordingly (if it matters at all). I bought it knowing it might not come with a cooler, so can't say I'd get burned if I got it without it. 5 stars because I exceeded my expectations! Much luck!
