Review on 💽 Inateck FE3001 Aluminum USB 3.0 SATA HDD Enclosure for 3.5" Hard Drive by Steve Walton

***NO PAID REVIEW*** Verdict: Nice Aluminum Enclosure This is a review of the Inateck USB 3.0 Aluminum Hard Drive Enclosure. I bought this drive to use a 3TB hard drive I had laying around. The aluminum casing is comfortable to the touch and helps reduce the internal temperature, which also extends the hard drive's lifespan. The built-in chip and installation seems fast enough and is easily recognized by both macOS and Windows. You can see the results of the Blackmagic Disk Speed test for my 3TB WD RED drive in the attached image. The case felt warm, which isn't bad as it indicates good heat transfer. I would like to apologize if I didn't mention some shortcomings I encountered. First, the front bezel was a little flimsy until you installed the hard drive. Just be careful and you'll be fine. The second was the cost. This case is likely to be more expensive than other options you'll find at Revain or similar stores. I paid $30 but you can probably find cheaper. However, this is a very good product. The third was the location of the LED on the side of the bezel, which made it hard to tell if it wasn't positioned correctly, but some of you might not care. Last and foremost, I had to reformat my hard drive to be able to use it. It would be a deal breaker if the hard drive contained sensitive data that I don't want to lose. If you are considering a hard drive enclosure, you should definitely add it to your list of options. I don't think you will regret your decision. Highly recommended!
