I was pleased to learn that Eve was developed in Germany; In the past I've had great luck with devices designed and manufactured in the EU. Unfortunately, this did not meet my requirements; It needs to be removed from HomeKit and reset every two days before it starts recording again. I even tried just installing it in a room with no glass in front, I bought it to monitor the front door of the apartment as the IR is used for motion detection as other users have noted; This didn't help, the camera still refused to record video regardless of the settings until it was removed and reset. With great hesitation, I strongly recommend that if you're looking for a HomeKit security camera, you spend the extra $10 and order the Logitech Circle 2; This is the one that Apple recommends between the two.
