Try assigning a static IP address to the fan in your router settings.

If you need help with smart features, the title is my best advice. You can skip the rest of the review. :) UPDATE: After a few months of using this fan we are still very happy with it. Assigning a static IP was really the answer because we haven't had any issues with it since. You really need to include this information in the instructions, it makes a world of difference! We bought this model because we wanted something with clean lines that didn't draw a lot of attention. This fan is super quiet and moves a lot of air in our 12 x 15 foot room with 9 foot ceilings and the matte white looks great against the white ceiling. The app has a "Breeze" feature that simulates a real breeze coming and going, which is very nice, and an "Away" mode (I haven't used it yet, but I suspect he turns on the light randomly once simulate someone -then). be at home) and a sleep timer. These three options are not available with the included remote control, only through the app. There was no problem connecting it to Alexa, and by the way, they no longer charge you for this benefit (I've read both $1 and $10 for a fan). Overall I was very happy with the fan the first night after installation. Regarding the installation, my husband (who has installed several fans over the years) said the instructions were kind of a joke. They're not very detailed, but he was able to figure it out without too much trouble. It took a lot of fiddling with the remote and app to finally get it working on day one, both locally (via the remote) and via the cloud (both the app and Alexa). Not a cakewalk by any means, but when it worked it was pretty cool. The next morning after installation, the fan didn't respond to either the remote control or the app. rats. After a lot of posturing, we've earned it again. Obviously spending 20 minutes messing around with it every time you want to use it is not acceptable. As a last resort, I gave the device a static IP address (do it through the router settings) and it hasn't disconnected since. (See the image showing the cloud and Wi-Fi connection in the upper-left corner of the screen.) That being said, the included remote sometimes doesn't work (although the app still works), but flipping the light switch seems to fix it take care of. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could (minus half a star for remote issues) because it works now, but I've rounded it up to 4 because I'm having a hard time getting it. If you hesitate about it. Fan, here are a few things to consider: 1) Do you install it yourself or hire an electrician? If the former, have you installed fans beforehand? If so, then you will probably be fine. If not, then this is probably not the fan you want to start with as the instructions are not very detailed and YouTube doesn't have a video for this particular fan (yet). 2) Is it convenient for you to go into the router settings to assign a static IP address? If not, find someone who is. Otherwise, this fan may end in disappointment. You can install it as a dumb fan, but why waste money at all when there are plenty of them for a lot less money.
