My old hospital straw cup from giving birth to my youngest baby was getting pretty gross so I threw it away and ordered this big guy. I wanted something that would hold a ton of liquid and keep it cold. What does he do. But the Big Straw Cup is not to be taken lightly. Those who drink from us carry them with them, a noble breed with a proud tradition. We're not looking for "good enough". We strive for perfection. This mug comes close, but there are a few minor issues. 1.) The straw is hard. In order to drink as lazily as possible, the cup should have a flexible straw that does not scratch the bottom. A stiff straw forces you to move the cup or your own body, causing unwanted labor. We are a lazy breed. 2.) Lid does not close. My entire extended family seems to want to use my giant mug (I think it's because I keep it full so they think it's a magical water source), including my four year old son. If he ever drops it, the suction cap will almost certainly come loose, spilling 50 ounces of water throughout the house. Well, this mug might be good enough for most, but if you're picky about your giant mugs, you might want to do some research before you buy!
