This is the cable: Brake Lines
This cable only lasted a year and a half on my heavily used hand Chevy. However, it was salt from New York State. When something went wrong it froze and destroyed my drum brakes. I'm not sure if it will last longer on a southbound car, but I'm sure you won't even have to change cables in the south.
