I travel to work daily, sometimes up to 400 miles or so, so I prefer a standalone GPS the old school. device versus what is on my phone. My work regularly takes me across pipeline access roads, mountaintop gas wells, dirt and gravel roads that lead to literally nowhere, and mounting a GPS device on your windshield or dashboard just doesn't work. Even if they don't fall (they always fall), the vibrations are so strong that the GPS's display vibrates so much that it becomes unreadable. my installation problems and works like a dream. First of all, after several months of continuous use, it seems to be very durable. The non-slip base stays practically in place except under the most extreme road conditions (and even then it only moves a little) and doesn't transfer vibrations to the screen, so information is easy to read at all times. I also love the fact that when I'm fishing during the day I can just remove the entire unit from the dash, base and all and just toss it on the bottom of my truck until I need it the next day. Recommend this product and would have no hesitation in buying another if this fails, is lost or stolen.
