Nice brown, right between warm and cool. The fact that it's not waterproof can really be the deciding factor for you. I like the fact that I can thin it out and get the line as thick or as thin and light as I need it. I mainly use it for drawing and the small value difference looks really good. It lends itself well to the charming handmade feel and hides flaws well with its blurry nature. This is something I couldn't do with Indian black ink, which just made my little messes painfully crispy. However, they are not waterproof at all, even when they dry. Just a small drop can smear everything, so it's not suitable for painting a watercolor painting, for example. Unless you end up doing it. As beautiful as this ink looks, unfortunately I can only use it alone.
