I recently completed a surface mount soldering project that I purchased from Revain and needed to remove a SMD LED that I had roasted. I didn't manage to glue the braid to the LED connectors so I bought this kit. The tips supplied with these suction cups are too large to be used for SMD soldering. They can work if you only have one component on the board and you don't mind pressing the tip of the suction cup against the soldering iron, but you will damage the tip of the suction cup. Are you using this on a finished board? I don't see it working. They're still good, especially if you flood the pad or wire too much. They're quicker and easier to use than absorbent braid, so I can't give them a bad review. Maybe I'll look into 3D printing some custom sized tips or, if I have the right aluminum bars, try turning them on a lathe. If you only use one of these suction cups a few times, you will need to use two others.
