These lights are what they are; cheap, light and waterproof. Duct tape's adhesive properties are terrible, but once you get that fact out of the way, they're better than good. I've used different types of additional adhesives (hot glue, elastomeric tube glue, and construction/base glue) and they all work well for sticking strips to different parts of the car (much better than tape strips). Fairly flexible and forgiving. You can cut and solder if you have a hand. They don't use a lot of energy. You are bright enough. They are cheap and plentiful. The sticky material does not stick. End.
