I purchased this because I wanted a fairy string of lights that did not use batteries. I also wanted lights that glowed steady and did not flash. The remote buttons are 1. combination, 2. in wave, 3. sequential, 4. slo glo, 5. chasing/flash,6. slo fade, 7. twinkle/flash, 8 steady on. The steady on is both the warm white and the colors so the colors are a pastel instead of the bright primary colors. I saw a battery powered string with button 1 as steady warm white and 2 as steady colors. I need to keep searching for a usb powered string that has this option.The dimming works well. I have not tried the timmer function.
