I find it difficult to put on my 2.5 year old son. The padding in the thumb section is turned inside out or twisted so he can't get his hand in properly which is very frustrating for everyone. We actually just tucked his whole arm into the other side of the mittens to keep him warm. Maybe it will get better with time but I don't think they are ideal for a very young child. My 4 year old daughter has no problem with it and loves wearing it. I increased it to the next size up and I think I should have done that for my son because he is almost the same size as his sister.
