Review on πŸ”Œ Upwade Portable Universal Travel Power Strip with Surge Protector, 2 Outlets, 4 USB Charger Ports, 5ft Extension Cord - UL Listed by Gary Konduru

Doesn't support 2x 2.1A as advertised

USB performance is a big disappointment. With a built in USB volt/amp meter, my Samsung tablet charges itself at 5.35 volts and 1.78 amps. Okay, close enough to 2.1 amps. But when I plug in a second high power device like my iPhone 8, the Samsung charge drops to 4.87 volts and 1.35 amps. So it obviously doesn't support two devices of 2.1 amps each. Samsung with a low-power device connected (0.5 amps) did not reduce Samsung's charging speed. Everything about this device calls for compromises. From the relatively thin power cord that claims to be able to handle 10 amps, the tactile feel of the device that feels light and doesn't inspire confidence in the quality of the innards, to the obviously poorly constructed childproof caps that overcome too much hassle, to the lack of any instructions (I got this as a gift), and I had no idea what universal outlets were until I read Revain's ad and discovered they were supposed to be surge protected) and the disappointing performance of USB outlets when more than one high-powered device is plugged in the same time. , all of this leaves a person feeling like there is probably a better product out there than this.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poor instructions
