Works. My hair is not thick at all, but very fluffy. I make keratin which leaves some waves and still sets, but this straightener gets them super straight like chopsticks in 5 minutes. I have received many compliments on how good my hair looks after using this straightener. About damage. I don't know yet, but it doesn't seem to burn them as badly as my old T3 iron.
