Review on Opti Tekscope Microscope Advanced Definition Industrial by Paul Vanlaere

I've been using other USB microscopes for a number of years - mainly for observing crystals and plants. I liked what they were doing and naively believed their claims of 150-200x magnification. But I wanted to get a new one and spent some time reading reviews to see which one would be better. I'm so glad I chose this because it's amazing and makes all other USB microscopes look like toys for kids in comparison. The rest of the products are cheap plastic with flimsy stands. This is a high quality aluminum product with a sturdy stand that makes viewing objects easier. When these other brands claim 200x or more magnification (some even ridiculously claim 1000x magnification), they are completely lying. They don't even come close (it's only about 40x), and all you can do is adjust the focus wheel until the subject comes into view, then keep rotating it through the blurred image until there's another viewing option reached. This brand gives you more control. Use the side wheels to adjust the macro focus, then rotate the top of the microscope to fine-tune the focus. When I used it to look at a crystal at maximum magnification for the first time, it was absolutely stunning. Conclusion: No other microscope is comparable to this one. If you want to spend money on a toy that lies about its capabilities, buy another product. But if you want a quality microscope that's easy to use and will blow your mind, get this one. *For MAC users: They don't have the software for this and recommend using Photo Booth. It works, but it also kinda sucks. I recommend a free app called Digital Viewer.
